Baby Shower

After years of shying away from the dreaded baby shower...I gave a surprise shower for my friend Monica on Saturday. (now she is not speaking to me...=)

disclaimer: Please do not take the above statement too seriously. I was teasing. She is speaking to me and very appreciative of the shower.

For all of you who know I have been working on this for a few months now. I wanted to post some pictures. I think it was a big success. The expectant mother was totally surprised and we had a great turn out of friends and a surprise guest. Monica's sister Leah flew in from Utah.
I can't take all the credit for the shower, I had help from some good friends in the ward.

My lack of blogging can most likely be attributed to this shower. In adjusting to my new job I find that I like doing projects. So I made a few decorations. I forgot to take pictures of everything I made. But here is the first one...
The Diaper cake. This was fun and easier then I expected.
Look at all this yummy food. Laura was in charge of the food and Oh was it good!
I filled my normally patriotic mantle up with pumpkins.
I have to say I have found a new admiration for pumpkins (don't tell Monica)
We set up tables in my living room.

Seth's FJC got sold.

After over a year of trying off and on to get it sold, it's finally gone. Seth is sad to see if go, but we'll be better off without it.

Great Birthday

It was a pretty lazy day. As the kids and I stayed home all day, and I showered at 12 when they took their naps. But I got calls from sweet family and friends.
I got to eat at Pf of my favorites with my awesome husband. (what's a date?)
Monica watched the twins, made me a cake and put this saying that I love on my wall. (All while I was on a date)

Holding my son while I'm getting sung to. And only 8 candles on the cake!
Eliot made me a card and gave me a big hug. Thanks Eli!
Laura and Annabeth came over for cake. Sami loves Laura.
Now I have to decide what to do with my gift from Laura...time to myself without the twins. Any suggestions?

Seth surprised me with a necklace that I mentioned I liked at Christmas time. Does it mean I'm getting old when I ask for a food storage book from my mom as a birthday gift?
This is my first birthday as a mom, and I am so happy and grateful for my beautiful babies. Even though they are teething and Weston screamed at me for an hour in the middle of the night last night. Today has been more special because they are in my life.
Love you more then I can express Seth, Samantha and Weston!

Mall play area

I think the kids really enjoyed the play area at North Richland Hills mall today. The last "mushy cushy" play area I took them to, they didn't venture much and Wes fussed.
Today Wes crawled right to the front during Rhyme time and he actually played at the mall.
This play area was empty. I think the abundance of kids at the other malls overwhelms the twins.

Sami pulls herself to her feet on anything she can find.
I love the size difference when they stand next to each other.
