Playing and looking good

Weston thought playing in the carrier base was fun until he found out he was stuck. Looks a little worried huh? So I laughed at him and got my camera before rescuing him.
Sami really enjoyed lunch one day this week. I'm trying to remember what we ate...ooh chef boyardee. Wes wouldn't touch it.
Wes at our playgroup on Friday.
Sami kept finding random things. First some other kids balloons, then the paper airplane. I love that she lets me put the hoods up on her clothes.

Six Flags and Parties

We had a fun filled Saturday. Mary Kay had their annual Family Day at Six Flags. We think the twins enjoyed themselves. We were able to take them on 4 rides.

Our family in the big chair.

Seth and I went to an 80's party and actually got a babysitter for the kids. We had so much fun. Thanks Tina and Del!
The girls...now why did these fashions go out of style?
The boys...that's why!
Aren't we like totally hot!

Hats and trash cans

Sami has decided hats are the thing. She fusses till I put it on her, walks around to show it off (I guess), pulls it off and we start all over again. She sure is a silly little thing.

Sami strutting with Wes's hat.
(note: she walks, he crawls)
Wes thought getting into the trash can lid would be fun. He is intrigued by so many odd things.
Still wearing the hat...
I was worried it was just Wes's hat she wanted. But today she played the same game with her hat.

Happy Halloween!

presenting....
Micky and Minnie Mouse

They looked soooo cute. Sami thought taking on and off the ears was fun. Wes thought he needed to protect the candy.
Thanks for the use of the costumes Marji.

1st BIRTHDAY

My mom came to visit about a week before the twins birthday. So we celebrated with her. Opened presents and ate cupcakes.
On their actual birthday, the twins opened gifts from Seth and I. Then I took them to the mall to the play area and we had lunch with friends. I also took them to Toys R us and they did "a little" something for the kids.

Gotta have pink and blue cupcakes. Didn't get totally creative.
Sami picked at her cupcake, while...
Weston picked his up by the frosted side and stuffed it in his mouth.

Weston not sure what's happening. But he LIKES the book.
Twins on their birthday morning. Still not sure what to do!

This is what Toys R Us gave them...
...crowns that they wore for 2 seconds.

Sami eating one of her new little people toys.

We didn't do a party for the Twins this year. Partly I was tired, partly Seth was working on his newly purchased used truck and partly because the family is just to dang far away!

Playtime

This is how we watched 2 seconds of conference.
"Look we figured out how to open the cupboards!"
"Would you like to see my red walker toy mom?"
"Stuff's got to be better on the other side of this gate.
How do we get there?"
"I know...I make this look good!"
"Not sure why mom put this thing on my head. But I like this shoe. "
Wes loves books. Sami loves walking with her hippo. (the blue toy is a hippo)
"Wait Sami my truck broke down!"
I love that they play together. Normally happily.
I would prefer them not to tear apart my kitchen though...

My good looking kids

Yeah... I have to apologize again. I know you want to see pictures of the twins. I'm going to blame my sweet, messy eating, loves to pull all my plastic dishes out of my island, crawling way too fast for me almost one year olds. Well when I write this they are not one yet.
Here are some of my favorite (ten) month pictures...
Weston dressed up for church and very intrigued in his shoes.
Love the expression. Our day at Dallas Arboretum
Sami is always so smiley.
...And she loves her Daddy!
I liked that Sami was holding on to Wes's foot in this picture.
I think we were actually on time to church this day.
We toured the Christmas Carol train that came to Dallas. I love that Sami has Wes's binky upside down in her mouth, but also holding hers in her other hand.
They have both since given up on the binky's.

Baby Shower

After years of shying away from the dreaded baby shower...I gave a surprise shower for my friend Monica on Saturday. (now she is not speaking to me...=)

disclaimer: Please do not take the above statement too seriously. I was teasing. She is speaking to me and very appreciative of the shower.

For all of you who know I have been working on this for a few months now. I wanted to post some pictures. I think it was a big success. The expectant mother was totally surprised and we had a great turn out of friends and a surprise guest. Monica's sister Leah flew in from Utah.
I can't take all the credit for the shower, I had help from some good friends in the ward.

My lack of blogging can most likely be attributed to this shower. In adjusting to my new job I find that I like doing projects. So I made a few decorations. I forgot to take pictures of everything I made. But here is the first one...
The Diaper cake. This was fun and easier then I expected.
Look at all this yummy food. Laura was in charge of the food and Oh was it good!
I filled my normally patriotic mantle up with pumpkins.
I have to say I have found a new admiration for pumpkins (don't tell Monica)
We set up tables in my living room.
